Our mission at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Icon of the Mother of God Pochaivska is to preserve Ukrainian Orthodox traditions and rites, passing these values on to future generations.

Nurturing Spiritual Roots Abroad
For many Ukrainians, especially those forced to leave their country due to war, our church becomes a place where they can find support and comfort. It also fosters the development of Ukrainian culture in the USA, as here Ukrainians can pray in their native language and confess and receive communion according to familiar rites.
This is especially important for those who find themselves far from home and feel the need for spiritual support.
History of the Church
The establishment of our church was made possible through the efforts of a Orthodox monk, Hieromonk Volodymyr (Zghoba). He opened the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Icon of the Mother of God Pochaivska in New York.
This event became significant both for Orthodox Christians in America and the Ukrainian diaspora in the USA.

The Pochaiv Icon of the Mother of God is one of the most venerated relics of the Ukrainian people, known for its miraculous power. For Ukrainians, this icon is not only a religious relic but also a symbol of unity and faith. The choice of this particular icon for the new church emphasizes the deep connection of Ukrainians to their history and traditions.
